Fucsia Teatro. Training through Theatre of the Oppressed

Through Fucsia Teatro, IAM’s theatre project, we use Theatre of the Oppressed as a tool for training, awareness-raising and participation.

Theatre becomes a space where experiences of discrimination, conflict and inequality can be explored through the body, relationships and collective experience. Using participatory theatre techniques, participants are actively involved in a process of reflection and experimentation that encourages them to question stereotypes, power dynamics and discriminatory behaviours.

Fucsia Teatro offers training programmes for groups, organisations, institutions and communities, adapting its activities to different contexts and learning objectives. The experiential approach of Theatre of the Oppressed turns training into an opportunity for dialogue, awareness-raising and the collective exploration of possible alternatives.

Through theatre, IAM brings its intersectional approach into training spaces, creating safe and participatory environments where people can learn, question assumptions and experiment together with new ways of relating to one another and engaging with the social contexts around them.
